Textured Mug September 2012
This is my textured mug, I'm not too happy with the way it turned out and the texture is not that great. To get this texture I used the bottom of my friends shoe and it didn't get spread out evenly on the mug, which I think makes me not like it. I'm hoping after it gets glazed it will look nicer and hide the ugly factors.
Stella Cup September 2012
This is my Stella cup and and has a texture as well, This is the second project I made and this one I was proud of. My handle broke though and you can see that in the picture but it wasn't hard to make and was enjoyable.
Slab Vase September 2012
This project was my favorite, I like that we got to be creative and make our own design pattern. This picture only shows one side of the vase and the other side does not match the design on the other side. The hardest part of this project for me was getting the sides together and making my handles.
Tea Bowl October 2012
Making this tea cup was fun and I'm proud that it turned out as well as it did, seeing as this was my first piece I've made on the wheel. I'm excited to see how it turns out after it gets glazed.
Whistle November 2012
This is my whistle, I have not yet painted but when I do, it should look beautiful. The hardest part of making the whistle for me was trying to get it make a noise. I also made a sculpture whistle of a beaver but the tail broke and it didn't work out too well. I enjoyed working on this project, it was easier than some of the other ones. My favorite part of making it was hollowing it out.
Cylinder November 2012
Working on the wheel is a very complicated task for me, and it is shown by the outcome of my work. This is my cylinder. It is small and looks more like a smaller bowl mug thing, I had troubles centering it which is why is somewhat slanted, pulling up the walls was also a difficult thing for me to do. I did not enjoy working on this project, but for the most part I am happy with the overall look of my cylinder.
Coiled Bowl December 2012
This picture illustrates my wonderful coil bowl. I not only enjoyed this project but I liked learning how making these types of bowls are made and where they started from. Although mine did not turn out as well as the Pueblo peoples do I think I did pretty well, plus they have a lot of practice and experience. My favorite part of this project was smoothing out the coils and making it blend.
